Race Details Race day is confirmed to be on Sunday 19th January 2020 Race time 10am, with the pre race meeting at 9:45am at First Surf Car-park Registration Register at Cape Paterson Surf Lifesaving Club 8.00am to 9:30am Results and presentations within 60 minutes after race finish.
The event starts on Cape Paterson First Surf Beach for a 400m surf swim, followed by a run back to the clubhouse to don your shoes for a 4.4km run along the scenic clifftops north on Hut View, west on Surf Beach Road towards Second Surf, then a loop through The Cape estate back to the finish line at First Surf carpark.

Competition Day
Register At Cape Paterson Surf Lifesaving Club 8am to 9:30am to receive your timing bracelet, coloured swimming cap (colour dictated by which category you enter) and race pack which includes your Cape Aquathon t-shirt and other goodies.

Rules and Regulations
In an emergency during the swim leg, a swimmer will raise an arm overhead and call for or seek assistance from water safety personnel (Cape Paterson SLSC lifesavers). Swimmers can accept flotation assistance without retiring from the event. Swimmers cannot receive propulsion assistance.
Swimmers who require assistance via the Inflatable Rescue Boats (IRBs), will be returned to shore and automatically retire from the race.
Swimmers must be 14 years or older on the day of the event to compete.
Swimmers may use any stroke to propel themselves and may tread water or float.
Swimmers must start in the wave corresponding with their cap colour as given to them at registration.
A swimmer must be wearing the approved swim cap given to them at registration to start their swim. The swim cap can be removed once at the transition area.
Participants must be wearing the transponder (timing bracelet) given to them at registration at all times during the swim and run.
A swimmer shall not wear artificial propulsion devices of any kind including, but not limited to, fins/flippers, paddles, floatation devices or buoyancy suits of any kind. Wetsuits are permitted.
There is a time limit of 15 minutes to complete the swim. Swimmers will be asked to withdraw from the swim after this time.
No form of locomotion other than running or walking is allowed during the run leg.
No individual support vehicles or escort runners are allowed on the course.
Runners are required to follow the directions of Race Officials.
Runners must not wear headphones or any device that restricts hearing while competing.
Race Officials shall have the authority to disqualify any competitor.
Medical staff shall have the ultimate and final authority to remove a competitor from the race if the competitor is judged to be physically incapable of continuing the race without risk of serious injury.
Good sportsmanlike conduct will be demanded of all competitors.
If you withdraw from the race you must notify a Race Official.
Only those participants who have trained and feel competent to complete the event should enter the event.
Each competitor will be issued with a transponder (timing bracelet) which they will be required to wear at all times during the race. It is the responsibility of competitors to ensure the transponders are securely fastened to them prior to entering and exiting the water. Non-returned or lost transponders will incur a $100 replacement charge.
